Facebook is the newest toy to hit the internet. It has made communication with family and friends much easier. People can find old friends, long lost cousins and other family members and enjoy a fun afternoon or evening playing games or just communicating with each other all day. However, regardless as to how many people, young and old have signed up on Facebook, a few have even made it to a higher income; it has a lot of disadvantages.
To begin with it requires a lot of information about where we live, our age, telephone number, e-mail. If we then join a cause then anyone who has anything to do with the cause will be able to look at all the information we have placed in our account and before long we are getting more of those envelopes wherein people are asking for money to help fix this or that worthy cause. Thus we also can’t be sure if the causes or people who are asking for money or help are legitimate or another phony organization who is misusing the money sent to them with more money going to their own pockets instead of the cause they are using.
Many of Facebook’s users not only put their marriage name on the screen but their maidens as well. Other family members will do the same and before long without realizing it we have given away a great deal of information about ourselves. We tell everyone what schools we attended, we tell everyone our maiden name, our mother's maiden name, we tell how many children we have, how many siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, and on and on. Thus we are making it easier for to be able to get our social security number and our identity is stolen.
We also put photos of all our family members, our homes, apartments; again someone will see the layout of your home and plan any number of crimes. We tell where we work; when we work; if we are going to be getting married, if we have lost someone, if we are going on vacation. It becomes a criminal's paradise.
Some of the information can be very shocking; a lot of nonsense or make family members see red because the whole world is aware of our business. Almost like every one of us is starring in a soap opera. If we disagree, all of our family, friends and their friends know about it.
Many even neglect their children or getting annoyed because they are in the middle of a game and don’t want to be bothered with a crying baby, changing a diaper, or don’t want to answer the telephone or they will lose the game.
