Poetry: The way you make me feel

by Josh Andrews

Created on: August 08, 2011

Lost in a cause

A city of finite potential, the night offers up the same sins

The angel smiles take on a sharper grin

And the Hennessey is always followed by gin

To forget her is like escaping a hunter

Those words follow me through the heaviest bush

And chase me down into a shallow grave

Flirting with a memory, she never speaks back

No one speaks to her, she’s hidden deep under my smile

The more I try to smile the more she massages my head

TRUST

ALWAYS BROKEN

Whether it’s a soft goodbye or a cold stab in the heart

They feel the same

Twenty years has taught me the lessons of drought
