Danger is a word
That can bring on quite a fright,
Danger is a state of mind
That tells you things aren’t right.
Danger comes in many ways,
In head, in heart, in crime,
And danger can be dispelled
By calling on the divine.
Some have faith, and some
Are lost, it always will be so,
But when it comes to danger
It really helps to know.
Know what’s real or fantasy
The mind can play real tricks.
Know about your world and friends
Some are sadly quite sick.
The moral of this poem is clear,
Be wise, wary and see,
What is in the heart of man,
And when you need to, flee.

Poetry: Danger
by Shirley Lake
The Night Guard at the Women's Shelter
Exhausted but alert,
responsible for the undisturbed
rest of seventeen sleeping women,
I'm
Alcohol
Stop! Don't touch.
Many a man have succumbed
in her luring chamber
filled with beauties and niceties
that abounds in
Look both ways before crossing the road
Listen carefully for speeding cars
That are, as yet, un-seen
Never talk to strangers
Don't

Poetry: Danger
The night I flirted with danger,
and took it to the edge.
I got this feeling inside my head,
no more of this
