So tired,
can't stay awake.
Haunted by dreams,
that sear my soul.
Chased by demons,
cloaked in shadows.
acrid breath
singeing my skin.
Unable to save loved ones,
caught in a web.
Their piercing screams
filling my head.
I am weak.
Unable to lift my arms.
My legs mired
in a thick cesspool.
trying to scream,
but emitting no sound.
Before my eyes,
my family devoured.
Accusing eyes,
ashamed of me.
Wicked laughter,
driving me insane.
Wake me,
please, wake me.
Let this be a bad dream,
and not my eternal Hell.

dragged to shore
