‘Shadow figures’ are humanoid-shaped patches of darkness usually, much like the shadow a living person would have if they were standing in direct sunlight.  Or, it is a shadow that is misplaced.  Sometimes these shadows are stationary and sometimes they are a slow or quick movement.  They can be seen in the corner of the eye or the corner of a room or beneath the edge of a door.  ‘Shadow figures’ have never been direct attention-grabbers.  They are those things that show up in pictures or that are in a room for a short time, usually vanishing after they have given you a shock.
