Poetry: Holding on

by lily frost

Created on: August 02, 2011

Holding on is to dream the hopes that my mama saw for me.

To see the blazing sun, to see the shining moon, and to be sure it is there every day as new.

To remember the good old days, to grasp the brand new ones, and be sure to connect the two.

Holding on is to care in a world that might not make due.

To see my sons and my daughter grow into their lives, and live them too.

To remember them young and cherish them older, and to know I had a hand in the two.

Holding on is to forgive as God, would what the bogey-man has manage to do.

To see the good that comes from the bad, and know that this is a gift too.

To remember the lives that are not here, and wish evil not to connect the two.

Holding on is what I do, to make my dreams come true.

To remember the kind world that was this place, and hope it becomes that in just a few.

So mine and yours can live their lives.

To remember  that holding on will be for a better day.
