The Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt is located close to the main railway station of Frankfurt. The railway station connects this city to other parts of Germany and is used in travelling from the airport. Upon arriving at the city centre of Frankfurt the hotel is a few streets away and is conveniently located.

I booked this hotel using the Holiday Inn website and paid around £45 per night for a twin room including breakfast. The hotel has a bar area serving drinks but there were unfortunately no food servings at the hotel except during breakfast time. The price I paid was very reasonable in that the hotel looks presentable and so too were the rooms.

I found that the check in process was fast and effective and I gave my booking reservation to the receptionist and she then gave me a room card. The key card also is needed to access the lift. The hotel had nice decor inside the reception and waiting area. The bar area also appealed to me as I had a few non alcoholic drinks from the hotel which were quite high priced. The room had blue and white striped carpets which were clean and pleasant to look at, the walls were white and neutral.  I liked the desk area which had a comfortable office chair and a wooden desk which was quite big. 

The beds were comfortable without being overly padded. The two single beds were a bit basic overall but I did like the bed frow and the duvet. The room had good level of lighting as well as having a nice curtain which provided a nice black out during the evening. The shower room was clean and nicely designed. I liked the functionality of the room which provided a pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Frankfurt. The hotel also had Wi-Fi access which cost 5 euros for 24 hours access which I considered to be expensive for the convenience. 

The service received at the hotel was professional, polite and acceptable. There was no real amazing levels of service displayed and the fact that there was no food options other than at breakfast time did not help. The breakfast was a self service, continental style breakfast consisting of a few cereals, bread, toast, ham and cheese slices and jam. There was rather ordinary croissants. My overall opinion of the breakfast was that it is a bit basic but considering the low price of the stay, I did not feel any need to complain. The service at breakfast time was reasonable in that there was a member of staff who replenished stocks of food and cleared tables.

In addition I liked the cleanliness of the hotel and the good value stay at this hotel. I was a bit disappointed by the food options at the breakfast area, though for dinner and lunch there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in and around Frankfurt city to enjoy food elsewhere. 

All in all, the Holiday Inn Express in Frankfurt is definitely an enjoyable and pleasing stay, without being a real gem of a hotel to visit.
