A Wolf's Tale
what doth vex sleep?
gives pause to perplexed sheep?
who lost their shepherd
their fates no longer tethered
to time weathered tradition
they can act of their own volition
make their own decisions
equate life’s latest rendition
with free will's bold flavor
and count good fortune's favor
with every blessing
all the while never addressing
never perusing
and thus so confusing
the cost of being lost
with the fee of being free
