Trying to give dating tips to senior citizens seems to be a bit of an oxymoron to me. As a senior citizen, myself, I don't believe I would need too much advice if I choose to date. On the other hand, perhaps there are those who have only recently decided to enter the dating game again and may feel out of the loop.

The most important tip to get, I would think, is where to meet others that one might find interesting to date. In the Western World there are many activities which can be explored as an avenue to meet eligible friends.

Most urban areas offer Senior Citizen Centers with all sorts of activities, from games such as bingo and cards to a variety of classes, e.g., exercise, art, dancing, crafts, cooking and so on. These are perfect places to find new interests, make new friends and meet potential dates.

For those seniors who want to keep on learning or like to walk a different path, the Elder-hostel Program is ideal. Under this program, a person can sign up for classes in many different subjects at college campuses all over the world. Archeology, astronomy, marine science are just a few. Travel may be to exotic South Sea Islands or Antarctica and include rugged camping experiences to staying in European castles. What a perfect opportunity to meet people of different races and cultures while learning new things.

The opportunities for meeting datable personalities is probably richer for Seniors than other ages, due to the freedom of time constraints and other responsibilities that tend to tether.

While dating, a Senior might remember all the lectures given to their children and their grandchildren, because most things would still apply. Most Seniors need not be reminded of health concerns, physical limitations and cautions regarding being alone with strangers in strange places. They know as much as anyone one else about rape potentials, con artists, gigolos and swindlers.

Perhaps the best tip for dating is-Just Do It!
