Poetry: Infinite partings

An Infinite Parting

I stood there and just sobbed

as two police officers stood there

watching you pack your stuff

with you saying "don't touch my stuff"

You called them so that I wouldn't

frame you and turn you into the bad

guy and you didn't want to get arrested

so you called the police on me

you told them I wouldn't you leave you alone

yet as I put your belongings outside

willingly, you looked like a fool

Six feet tall and three hundred

pounds, why on earth would I keep

your stuff or try to hurt you

Inifinite partings

Not what I was promised

in the beginning

A week later I was good enough

to be your lover, friend, companion in life

I am still confused about it all

I guess you thought the grass was greener

on the other side of the fence

Well, the fence was rusted with wholes in it

but I guess you didn't know that until

you experienced it yourself
