How to avoid becoming a Twitter pest

If there is one thing that is very easy to do, it is becoming a Twitter pest. A Twitter pest is someone who blasts out tweets that do not have anything related to their profile, constantly spams the same link, or even begging people to follow you in messages or tweets. If there is one thing that you do not want to be doing on Twitter, it is begging people for things, like a follow or a re-tweet. This makes you look desperate and seems to show a hint of limited mental capacities. Though begging people to follow you will probably not get your Twitter account suspended, it will give you a pest "label" among the other users, and some people might even stop following you for it. The best way to get visitors is to follow people who might be interested in what you have to say, and then hopefully they will follow you back. Getting a lot of followers is not important at first, because as people follow you, more followers will come naturally, over time.

Posting relevant posts to your Twitter profile on a regular basis will get you a steady stream of new followers. Keeping them interested in what you have to say is important so they do not start considering you a pest after a short time of following you. If your Twitter account is related to high heel shoes, then it might anger your followers, if you post things about changing engine oil or something else that is not related to high heel shoes. Coming up with unique content is a unique skill that can be discussed in other articles, but it involves a mixture of 3 different services. One service grabs unique content that has not been picked up by search engines, yet. Then the second service edits the content to your liking, and adds the link to the page you are trying to get traffic to. Then the third service sends your status updates to your different social profiles. It works perfectly, but dies require some time to become familiar with how to use the different services. These three services are Google Alerts, Twitterfeed.com, and Hellotxt.com. Using them properly will also keep your name from being considered a Twitter pest.

A good remedy for people who do not have a bunch of different pages to send people to, you can change the link simply by using different URL shortening services. A popular tool is the muse for Google Chrome. It put a chain link type logo at the end of your address bar, and when you visit a page you can click the chain link, and a drop down menu will appear that allows you to shorten your URL with many different URL shortening services. With this tool, you can make many different links all pointing to the same page automatically.

Now you know some of the major things that should be considered when it comes to not becoming a pest on Twitter, and even know some of the names of the most powerful tools that are developed for creating and posting status updates. Hopefully you can become a success on Twitter, and people never label you as a Twitter pest, because it is a hard label to get rid of, and if you make enough people mad they can report you, and Twitter can suspend your account. To sum it all up, use the tools that were introduced to you properly, and avoid becoming a pest on Twitter.
