In our modern day culture, everyone is like the energizer bunny; they keep going and going. There seems to be no time to relax; too many distractions steal our time away from beautiful horizons and fascinating experiences like bird watching. Distractions like the Internet and day to day responsibilities affect everyone’s mind and body.
Fortunately, activities like bird watching or birding presents a nice change of scenery while soaking up natural vitamin D in the sun. Vitamin D helps prevent certain cancers and gives you the natural energy everyone desires to have, hence the high marketing demand for artificial energy drinks.
Bird watching or birding is an extremely calming hobby for the mind, body, and soul. Nature promotes serenity in a world full of chaos. Transforming your mind away from distractions, worries, and added stress can help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk for heart attacks as well.
Birds are funny and fascinating creatures to watch; the benefits of watching wild birds play, fight, or even run into glass windows can be extremely therapeutic for the soul. Laughter is the best medicine and it releases endorphins that just make you feel good inside. People who are depressed may have a different outlook on life just by engaging in bird watching that sparks curiosity and a sense of mystery that cannot be found in any other leisure activity.
Anytime you see someone struggling with depression and want to help them spread their wings, you may want to suggest bird watching or birding. There is something mysterious about connecting on a personal level and studying nature all at the same time. Nature is much more fulfilling than dwelling on the mundane aspects of life, there is always a new and exciting bird watching or birding adventure waiting for you when you need to escape from reality.
Do you have someone in mind to introduce to bird watching? Someone who lost a job, family, or pet? Explain the benefits of bird watching to someone who is down in the dumps, and you will have him or her smiling in a heartbeat. You never know what creatures with wings can do in an individual’s world. Stand on the confidence that watching a wild bird spread its wings is capable of influencing someone to soar like an eagle becoming bold and strong.
