You may be asking yourself as to why you should be delegating. The reason is that with delegation as a manager you will be able to see the larger picture. This means that you will not be caught up into managing the nitty gritty little details, but rather you will be leading your staff in the right direction.
The importance of learning to delagate is enormous in today's corporate and managerial world. If you do not know how to delegate, you will get so overwhelmed with work that your neck and shoulders will start hurting you while you will still not be through with work. If you know how to delegate, you will boost your staff moral, your production will increase, and you will have more time to dedicate towards leading and motivating your employees, which is what your main job should be about.
Look for effective ways to delegate
You will probably notice employees around who would like to prove themselves and they are especially adept at taking upon new duties and responsibilities. They usually like to show off and do more than is expected of them. They are either looking for promotion, increased job responsibility, or are building their career on a step by step, solid basis. Do not go into the background reasons but reward them with additional work if that is what they desire.
Search for young employees who may be willing to learn new skills
One of the easiest ways that you may be able to delegate work is if you are capable of finding young employees who want to adopt new skills or sharpen the already existing ones. Sometimes they may look to you like they couldn't handle additional responsibility, but it may just look so on the surface. You never know how much somebody can do unless you give him or her the opportunity to do it.
Delegation enables our colleagues and subordinate to learn the specific skills from us
Don't accumulate all the knowledge and skills to yourself. You are worth as much knowledge and experience as you transfer to other people, meaning your colleagues or subordinates. Imagine all the opportunities that may open themselves to a person when he or she accumulates the skills right on the spot. If it wasn't for delegation, many people would never be promoted or rewarded with higher pay. Thus, think of delegation as an incentive for rewarding in employees in terms of working opportunities.
