The 2011 Toyota Innova celebrates five years of model success in India. With a base price of 886,960 Rupees, or $19,969 US, it is a popular vehicle in the SUV class. The Innova was first marketed in 2005 as a replacement for the Qualis and has enjoyed a nearly 31% market share. Other Toyota offerings for the Asian market are the Land Cruiser Amazon and Land Cruiser Prado.
The Special Edition 2011 Innova was first launched for sale in India in June of 2010. Available from dealers until September of 2010, this edition is only available in one color, Premium Super White. The grill and bumpers match the body color but Special Edition decals have been added. Innova models over the years have been available in seven colors. Standard features include spoke alloy wheels and chrome door handles and trim. The 2011 Special Edition has black handles and trim.
The 2011 Toyota Innova includes the comforts of an automatic climate control system and additional rear ceiling air conditioning. Drivers enjoy the four-spoke leather steering wheel with a Multi Information Display (MID) switch and an audio system with a remote control feature. The Innova offers a spacious interior for eight occupants and a roomy luggage compartment.
The 2.5-Liter engine provides increased power through all speed levels with the use of high-pressure fuel injection. The Innova offers improved fuel efficiency and performance with less engine noise and vibration. Variable Valve Timing - Intelligent (VVT-I) and a Direct Injection 4-Stroke Common Rail diesel engine (D-4D) are part of the package.
The 2011 Innova continues with Toyota’s drive for excellence in safety. Standard safety features include fog lamps and headlamps, which include clearance and turn lamps. Combination rear lamps include back-up sensors for added safety. All Innova models are Euro 2 Compliant.
The braking system includes ventilated front disc brakes with leading-trailing rear drum brakes. An independent coil spring, Double Wishbone with stabilizer bar and 4-link spring suspension system provides front and rear stability. Rack and pinion power steering adds to the vehicle’s ability for handling the road.
The Innova line is designed for the Asian market and vehicle specifications vary by exact market. Regular production years include the availability of diesel or gas engines in both five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions. Production was limited to only 700 of the 2011 Innovas, for the Indian market, making this a special vehicle for Toyota enthusiasts.
