is wise to buy good quality clothing as opposed to buying lower quality clothing, in the long run, you'll spend less because you don't have to shop as much. Good quality clothing last longer, it's durable and looks nicer than lower quality clothing after wearing for weeks, months, and years. For instance, if you bought a coat for the winter. Before winter is even over, the coat is tearing from the seams. You know that you won't be able to use that coat for the next year. But, if you buy a coat with good quality that is durable it will probably be good for this winter and 2 or 3 more winters to come.
9. When it comes to buying groceries, I find that buying in bulk is cheaper for me. When I shop at Costco's or Sam's Club, I buy my soap powder, soap, deodorant, meats, bread, fruits, and other items from these warehouses because they will last me at least a month or more. The deodorant lasts for several months. You get 4 in a pack at half the price you would pay at a grocery store. I buy trash bags in bulk. We always need trash bags, why not buy enough to last you for months and months and pay a reasonable price at the same time. I love buying my meats there because they are fresher and you buy it in bulk where you won't have to run to the store every other day to get meat for dinner.
I don't want to give you the wrong idea, because shopping at these warehouses can be very expensive. At the same time, it can cut down on your visits to the neighborhood stores where you pay for 1 item that you can get in bulk quantity for the price you paid for that 1 item.
10. If you have mortgage notes, utility bills, credit card debts and etc., why would you consider consolidating your bills? First of all, I would never consolidate my bills. Why? Because even after the consolidation you still have those bills to pay and now that you've consolidated your bills, you now have an added bill. A consolidation company is not helping you consolidate your bills for free. They are in it for the fee that they will get from helping you to consolidate your bills. So have you saved any money? No. How are you saving money by consolidating your bills into one big bill while paying the company for their services? You are still paying each bill individually even though the bills have been consolidated. Does that make any sense? No. Why? Because the only thing that changed is the fact that you added another bill on top of the bills that you already had.
So to spend wisely and save in a situation like this, your best option would be to go to the different companies where you owe money and work out an agreement that you can handle without involving a third party in the agreement.
11. Eating out or ordering in, to say the least, can be very expensive. If you are eating out or ordering in at least 3-4 times per week, is an expense that can be curtailed by using the money being spent on eating out and ordering in to buy groceries and cooking your own meals. To actually see the big picture of how much you can save by cooking your own meals, for 1 month, buy your groceries and cook all of your meals. Get a jar and put the amount of money you would have paid if you had eaten out or ordered in. You will be probably be shocked at how much you can save.
In summary, if you want to practice spending wisely to save money, these points listed will be a good starting place.
