How to find Files and Folders in windows 7:
Finding files and folders in Windows 7 is pretty much easy, it is faster, easier and less complicated than in Windows Vista and Windows XP, there are several ways in which you could find folders in Windows 7, They are :
1- Click the start menu (usually located at the bottom left of the screen), the start menu will appear at the bottom of the start menu you will find " Search Programs and Files" with a magnifying glass to its right, type the name of the File or Folder you are searching for and if the name is typed correct then it will find it.
2- In Windows 7 the window itself has a search bar embedded in to the top right corner of the window, this could be used in order to search for files and folders, in order to be able to search more accurately you could open the partition or a folder in which you know that the file or folder you are searching for is in and the type the name of the file in the search box on the top right of the window.
3- If the above ways did not work in finding the file or folder you have been looking for then there are 3 options:
a) the file or folder is hidden or a system file, it can be solved by simply going to a tab on the top left called organize, click it then click folder and search options, a window will appear with 3 tabs choose the tab called view , you will find hidden files and folders marked with don't show hidden files ,folders, drives , now choose show hidden files ,folders, drives. and also if you are searching for a system file (not recommended) remove the tick beside hide protected operating system files
b) the word used in the search is inaccurate, maybe you misspelled the file or folder name , so in order to avoid any mistakes like that try to use the shorter version of the name , for example don't type " Pirates of the Caribbean" type " pirates" and you will find what you are searching for along side a couple of other files but in the end you did find the file .
c) the file or folder does not exist.
4- There are advance search options that can be modified to match your preference in the search results and they can be changed by clicking Organize (from the top right of any window)then click folder and search options, a window will appear with 3 tabs choose the tab called search .
There are other programs from third parties that can be bought or downloaded from the Internet for free that can do the search for you , they sometimes have more advanced search properties.
