Poetry: A lack of love

by Clinton Bell

Created on: July 21, 2011

My heart like a desert

Vapid

Mundane

Without reason or care

Monotony blows with the sand

Cutting the crust of my naked heart

Into pieces too small for a scavenger

Or a vagabond in desperate need

No shelter from the cruelness;

From love's razor edge,

Nature's scolding eyes,

Or the heart's morose wasteland
