What am I to do with this cancer?
This cancer inside of you, "Oh Dear God", what am I to do
Part of me wants to wretch with anger
To vomit from the depth of unending emptiness within me
Part of me wants to "hold you" as a newborn
Filling your soul with "gentle care"
Wrapping you in "love", so warm, so secure
Part of me wants to hide away
Wake up tomorrow to a brand new day
Believing that the demons of the dark side of sleep
Weren't real and have gone away as night turns to day
What am I to do with this cancer?
How do I begin to accept?
I know that in accepting I can begin to understand...but
I fear what lies before us in the days to come
Sadness and madness, possibly so
I pray for richness and blessings upon us bestow
I pray that God leads us and holds us so tight
I know that I need guidance and believe
That somewhere, oh somehow we will see the light
I pray for your healing and I pray for your soul
"I love you forever" and want you to know
I’m right here beside you, I’m with you each day
Each moment, each second as you travel your way
"I love you forever" and want you to know
I’m right here beside you each moment, each second, forever
