The Jacksons Variety Show was one of the first shows done by a African American family. The show made it's debut in the summer of 1976. The variety show had guest stars like Mackenzie Phillips, John Byner, Wonder Woman's Lynda Carter, Georgia Engels, and even Redd Foxx. It starred every member of the family except Jermaine, who stayed with Motown after the Jackson 5 left. There were tap dance numbers done mostly by the family. Janet Jackson done characters like June Carter Cash, Cher, and her most favorite actor, Mae West, which she took with her when she became a star on Good Times. The best part of the show was the cowboy scene when Michael shot the sheriff (Jackie). The songs done on the show were from the albums released between 1969 and 1977. "Enjoy Yourself", "Style of Life" and "Dancing Machine" were some of my favorite songs done on the show. When the show is over, Michael ends it by singing a portion of "I'll Be There". Michael did not always like doing the show, but he always went a long with it. The show cancelled after two seasons. On the scale of one to ten, I'll give The Jacksons Variety Show a nine.
