Poetry: Sinking

by Aaron Faust

Created on: July 18, 2011

A rain is gathering with weight I cannot imagine.
The typhoon swell matches my heartbeat and
My blood reverberates the thunderclap wrath of
A world torn at the seams.
I am a victim of my inaction.
I am the bane of a technological nightmare on the rise.
Carry my soul to the laboratory, create a character,
And release the dying bastard so he may
Swallow the planet.
If the land breaks apart, we'll make love in the ocean.
If the sea boils over, we'll flee to the skies.
We spend our days searching for something to sing.
How long can I look at the one that I love before
My eyes start to riot?
Help me prepare a mercury cocktail.
Hold my nose as it slides down my throat.
Wipe the blood out of my eyes and send me down to float.
