How to know if you are a Facebook addict

Before you've even had your first cup of coffee; you quickly check to see who has updated their Facebook status. During your breakfast you laugh over the silly photos from that drunk Saturday night. On the way to work you have checked you Facebook several times along with your phone and emails.

It's 2011 and we are the social network generation! If it's not facebook, it's Twitter. It's now possible to check your profiles while your on the go, but is this normal? In today's technological world, where we are all rushing around from here and there, eating on the go and trying to keep up with the latest craze; it's completely normal to see people checking their online activity in public.  We don't just manage a real life, but also a busy online one too.

Here are the signs to look for if you think you may be a Facebook addict.

1) You have an essay of 2000 or more due by Morning and somehow you can't concentrate. It seems what Kelly from school had for lunch is more interesting.

2) You like a guy, really like. So what do you do ask him out, get a friend to talk to him, maybe flirt with him in passing. Don't be silly, just poke him on Facebook.

3) You feel compelled to tell all about your dreadful morning when the car wouldn't start, you were late for work, or a stranger was rude! Does everybody really want to know?

4) An important event is coming up, no need to send out invites by post. You can just start a group and invite everyone, possibly forgetting the few people who haven't got a Facebook page. Seriously, they do exist.

5) You can't get to a computer, but you can log on to your profile by your mobile.

6) You are having coffee with a real living person and you keep glancing at your phone, wanting to just take a quick look to see who is online.

If you can answer yes to three or more of these statements; it is very likely you are a Facebook addict. Don't worry, however there is no need to panic as this is not a real addiction and just a harmless writer poking fun at today's world. Now I really have to go, I have to go throw a monkey at a friend. A poking war is a serious business you know.
