Triond: Personal experiences

by Jane Fazackarley

Created on: July 18, 2011

I first joined Triond in 2009.  I joined up because I enjoy writing and I liked the fact they have a network of sites and a wide choice of categories that you can write for.

I haven’t been nearly as dedicated in writing for the site as some others have, and that is reflected in my earnings so far, but just recently I have begun to see a steady increase in the amount of pageviews and in the amount of ‘Friends’ and ‘fans’.

My experience with Triond so far has been mixed but I’m sticking with it and I’m starting to see some results.  I’m building up an article base and the pageviews are growing steadily each month, which has been my plan.

Although the payments are low, there are many positives with Triond.  For one thing, their editing system is easy to use and I like that you can go back and edit an article at any time should you need to update the information for some reason.  I also like the community side of the site and the various contests and incentives that are promoted occasionally which are a good way of earning some extra money.

As with similar sites, the way to earn good money from Triond is to promote your work.  At the moment I’m working on building up a large bank of articles rather than promoting them so much and just doing the basics of promotion such as sharing them on Twitter and becoming more involved with the community side of the site.  When it comes to promoting your work, Triond also have a Facebook group and others suggest using the social networking/bookmarking sites as a way of gaining more views for articles.

I’ve also noticed that the majority of my pageviews come from other people on Triond.  That makes it an easy way to promote your work but others on the site would say that to do really well on the Triond, you need to get plenty of views from off the site as well.

Triond seem to have been hit quite hard by the recent changes that Google have made.  In response to this Triond announced that they are adding a flag button for pornographic, plagiarised and otherwise unsuitable articles .

One of the negatives can be the length of time they take to accept an article.  On most occasions I’ve had articles published almost instantly but at other times its taken a few days.   If my article is a news story, I think perhaps the delay in publication doesn’t help with pageviews, since it is no longer news days later.

Overall, I like Triond and like many of the other writing sites, you’ll get out of it what you put in.
