The air in my lungs slips from my chest
There's always some simple culprit to blame
A trigger that proves you're gone, but never really left
As my lips still know the quietest whisper of your name
The way I let the wind dance over my finger tips
As my car rumbles down the empty road
Something I always thought was just for kids
Until you showed me, I wasn't really that old
Or that getting lost on the way home
Can be more fun than it might sound
Because you never know where the night goes
If you just let you precious guard slip down
The way you sang out loud
In tune almost all of the time
Proving it's okay to be proud
And imperfection isn't really a crime
The way a shower doesn't always have to mean
You did anything to get dirty at all that day
That sometimes you can end up clean
Even if it ends up just happening along the way
Or that watching a movie you already know by heart
Just one more time before you turn out the light
Can help clear your mind right from the start
And make for a very simple, simply perfect night
When a stray pillow hits my shoulder with the slightest touch
I can feel years disappear with the close of an eye
And while the grasp of your embrace was never too much
The weight of regret now seems to smother me inside
And although you're gone and I know it's true
Somehow it feels like you're still here
Even my dreaming mind can't forget you
Because part of me would disappear
The air in my lungs slips from my chest
There's always some simple culprit to blame
A trigger that proves you're gone, but never really left
As my lips still know the quietest whisper of your name

Poetry: Perfect love
by Kevin Ash
It’s been called a river and conquers all
It makes poor men rich and short men tall
A force so strong it makes the world
Through the lives that we have lead,
Down the paths that we have tread.
You have taken me in stride,
Standing tall by my side.
When
by Eliza Wilson
how could I not love you
when my eyes touched your eyes
my hand touched your hand
skin upon skin
light upon light

A Verse for Her
Scattered amidst the leaves of time,
Lost, as a needle in the hay,
Walking a road with no reason or rhyme,
A
The ground is shaking- I’ll be your land
You falter- I will give you my hand
When you shudder- I will bring peace
