Teens are subject to a variety of impulses because of their hormones and limited skills in coping with life. How can teens manage the stresses that prevail them these days? Anger management is an issue that needs to be addressed by some teens.

Some helpful tips to help control the anger issues, that some teens face:

Communication skills are a necessary component to address the issues of anger and hostile behavior  getting way out of control. At times, a neutral party or mediator may assist in controlling the conflict. A therapist that deals with human behavior is of value in helping teens to deal with anger issues.

Communication, must evolve into a healthy, non accusatory dialogue in order to gain the trust and participation of the teen. This communication, will help to determine, the reason for the anger. Who or what circumstance is the teen angry with? Once, this determination has been made, the anger issue can be resolved.

Anger is a rash, declared emotion that everyone  feels at some point in their life. Some times venting that emotion may suffice and other times venting may just add more fuel to the already combustible fire. Any time there is alcohol, or substance abuse,  the teen must abstain, in order to view the situation more rationally. A sober mind, produces sober results.

Kindness and compassion towards others are important characteristics, that must be learned and developed by teens. Most teens understand, humiliation and teasing. Certainly, if you are being taunted or teased by someone, the first inclination might be to react in a hostile negative manner.

Ignoring rude comments is difficult to do for most people. Always, consider the outcome of any decision or action that you take. Take a deep breath and visualize walking away from the situation. The old nursery rhyme, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me", may not always be true.

Remember, they are just words.Words can be diluted and disputed with action. Never get angry with words that are untrue. Your actions and your character speak truer words. Never retaliate, with harsh words or physical abuse. it is not worth the headache, the suspension from school, bad reputation and in some cases, even jail time. So, allow your anger to dissipate like a vapor. Your future is the up most importance!

Channeling that energy into something productive, like music, sports or anything that takes your mind away from the confusion is a remedy that might work for you. Don't take your anger out on those who love you. Remember they love you.

At times, teens may feel angry, because they may feel no one understands them. It will help to collect your thoughts and carry on. You are not the only teen who does not see eye to eye with your parents or feels like life is unfair.  Take heart, teens are not alone in their despair.
