Our family was blessed
When Daddy met Mother
And decided to marry her one day.
A few years later on
They made it to the altar,
And soon a child was on his way.
A short two years later,
A second son came along,
And the doctor told them to quit.
So they waited a while
Till the boys were in school,
And decided to "forget" what he said.
A dark-haired girl was next in line
To join in the fun and games,
And keep things working out well.
The next two along
With two years in between,
Were healthy boys to feed.
Two years after the fifth,
The second girl arrived,
I'm glad that one was me.
In two more years time,
With the two oldest at war,
The youngest of seven arrived.
We lived in a log cabin-
The house where I was born-
Until my junior school year.
But we only moved over
Across the old garden,
To a "new" house Daddy built.
The cabin's now gone,
And Mother and Dad,
And only three of us are left.
But we still remember those days
When we sang on the porch,
And we relish the love that we share.
And each year in April,
At our father's childhood "grounds"
We meet for reunion in remembrance.
Our children and grands
And cousins and friends
Help us celebrate family beginnings.
And as the years pass away,
And older ones pass on-
The younger ones make sure they remember.

Spontaneous,

They may all just be words but my gives it meaning
Fierce on the outside

Shades of a sunrise slaking
The dark thirst of waking
Hills dressed in early spring
