REST IN PEACE
Dreams can come easy,
But nightmares, they come easier.
Unfortunately sleep is where we lose the ability to control,
And our minds just play out the scenes.
Dreams tell my story, in plain black and white.
That story is already completed, and it is simple.
It tells of our fairytale love, and that didn’t have the happy ending I longed for.
But even though it didn’t work out, I wouldn’t dream of never having the pleasure of your touch.
In my dream, I can see you; see us.
I beam at the way you loved me, as if there would be no dream the next night.
I wanted to stay,
I didn’t want to leave you all alone in my thoughts anymore.
So my soul died.
Resting in the most peaceful way I know;
With yours.
How could I stay awake another day without you in my world?
The corps’ of our soul lay in the dirt together.
Unconfined by a pine or marvel box, we just lay there.
In nothing but our bones,
Love pouring from the sockets that used to hold eyes.
We can’t help but smile, this is joy; is bliss.
The skeletal frame where limbs and organs used to sit is empty.
Yet my heart still beats,
I can still feel, even though there is no skin to be felt.
I don’t know why you left,
But you’re soul is still here with me,
Because you knew that you were still wrapped up in me.
I cannot help but to take you back because in this life our fate is set in stone.
Our bones make love.
What else is there to do?
They have been waiting for eternity to finally meet.
We are soulmates.
Unfortunately, my body has to wake up.
But there is no soul in that body.
It has been freed,
And so has yours.
So when you wake up with her,
Tell her that you are with me.
You only ever loved her half as much as you should’ve,
Because your soul lay in ecstasy, resting in peace.

Dear loved ones,
I hold your spirits close,
You've lost me this time,
But I'll never let go.
