April 15th is long since past. The Tea Party Coalition is still waving our flag and shouting from the rooftops. I don't entirely disagree with them and I don't wholly agree with them either. I have some points I would like to share and some ideas to help bring our nation back together and maybe heal us and I am going to say them while I still have the freedom and right to do so.
TEA PARTY COMMENTARY ON CURRENT EVENTS
I’m a writer and am currently working on some articles on U.S. History. Yesterday I was doing an article on “The Sons of Liberty.” Do you know who they are, were? Some of you probably do and some won’t have a clue.
The Sons of Liberty were a group of men headed by Samuel Adams that lived in the American Colonies before the American Revolution. They were the founding fathers of the colonial resistance, those who stood up against the tyrannical rules and regulations set upon the colonist by England at the time, things like unfair taxation without representation (or representation that actually reflected the needs and desires of the colonist instead of their own personal gain and influence). These are the men who cried “Give me liberty or give me death” because what you are doing to us is killing us anyhow. These are the men who refused to accept and pay the taxes set by England on “tea” no less and dumped it all overboard into the sea in an act of rebellion; you may have heard about it. It was called The Boston Tea Party.
The Sons of Liberty are the men who vocally declared our liberty from a tyrannical government, declared our independence and established our freedoms and wrote and signed our Declaration of Independence. They are the founding fathers of this Nation; the Sons of Liberty. These are the men who met the British at Concord Bridge and fired the shot heard round the world and began the American Revolution.
Now I see the same thing happening again, within our own boundaries as we are being taxed beyond all reason, unemployment is at an unbelievable level, not so different from “The Great Depression” just prior to World War II, prices skyrocketing on the things we need, food, clothing, fuel, medical care, keeping up and protecting our infrastructure, just for starters and all these trials and disadvantages we are under and struggling with are caused by our government run amuck.
As a nation we are multiple trillions of dollars in
