Best cleats for soccer

From Nike's Superfly cleats to Adidas' Predator X, there have been many attempts at creating the perfect soccer cleat. However, it still has not been created. But there have been great soccer cleats that have been created in the process.

The perfect soccer cleat is the one that fits the specific style of play that a soccer player has. If a player is a striker that likes to rip some jaw dropping shots on target, they will want a pair of boots that maximizes the amount of power that is transferred to the ball. If they want to have good touch on the ball, the player needs to get the boot that lets them do that. In other words, a soccer player getting ready for a big match is like a Roman gladiator getting ready to fight to the death. In both cases, they have to chose their weapon carefully.

Now, there are many soccer cleats out there that help a player specialize in what they do the best. From my experience as a soccer player, I have to say that different positions don’t really require different types of cleats. However, if you play defense, you should not get cleats that help you direct all your power onto the ball. That’s the role usually of striker. So, here are some of the cleats that I found were helpful for each position a soccer player can play.

1. Goalkeeper

a. Adidas Predator X

These cleats are by far my favorites. They are overall some great cleats for anyone playing goalkeeper. The traction that these cleats offer is superb so do not worry about wearing them out while making those big saves. And after the ball goes out for a goal kick, these cleats let you focus all your power onto the ball to get great goal kicks that go all the way. However, the only thing about these cleats is that you need to be able to aim your kicks if you want to make them precise. These are striker cleats, but playing goalie in these awesome cleats is not that bad.

b. Nike T90 Laser III

The T90 laser 4 is one of the best cleats out on the market for goalies. These cleats are good for not only aiming your shots, but also putting power into those shots. In other words, these cleats are great for pinpoint goal kicks. Don’t be misled by the 5 pads, though. They are located farther away than they should be for the normal striker, though they work if you can adjust your shot. The passing game is not something you should really rely on with these (not that you’ll ever need to), making these some overall good boots.

2. Defense

a. Nike CTR360
