Porcelain dolls and fluffy cats
Tea, and cake, and all of that
Take me to a place I love
Somewhere way up above
But it’s only make believe
I play with my toys on the stairs
But only in reality am I there
For when I play, I leave this place
Once I’m gone you won’t find a trace
But it’s only make believe
In my little world I find consolation
No such thing there as misinterpretation
Everyone loves me, everyone knows me
In my little world I can just be
But it’s only make believe
People in my world understand
They don’t let anything out of hand
They always help out one another
They treat everyone like a brother
But it’s only make believe
But when the sun begins to sink
And the mountains suck at the light to drink
I’m back on the stairs all alone
Nobody’s with me, nobody’s home
Because it’s only make believe
