Poetry: Reflecting

by Beth Gaboury

Created on: July 08, 2011

I remember

The sandy shores of a warm, stretching beach

Frolicking kids in an ocean's frothy foam

Shells and pretty stones scattered across the sands

I remember

Sandcastles of all sizes and shapes and variations

Seagulls daringly drawing closer, testing our patience

Waves that carried us from the sea to the shore

I remember

Building deep tunnels for dozens of hermit crabs

Splashing about in the surf, scaring the fish

Burning our feet on the scorching sand and pavement

I remember

When we had to leave
