Focus on making money

Money really does make Runescape go around. You will not get far in Runescape without money. Luckily, there are so many ways to make money that you will never be spoilt for choice. When you have enough money, you can consider merchanting which basically means bargain hunting around the game, buying an item cheap and selling it for more so that you make profit. Train one skill at a time

For example, in the time it takes to train woodcutting, mining and fishing to level 70 each, you could have spent all of that time training just one of those skills to level 99, thus giving you even more money and of course, a skill cape to go with it. This does not apply for skills such as prayer and hit points which grow over time.

Socialize and make friends

Runescape is a social game and that is one of the reasons that it is so popular. If you find the game becoming boring and repetitive, that is probably because you are not socializing enough.
