Assessing cell phone family plans

With myFaves, you can call your top five numbers, no matter who their carrier is, and talk all you want without it counting against your anytime minutes. Additionally, each member of your family gets their own five numbers. You don't have to share the five people as a group. The myFaves plan had two options in the basic plan price-range. You can either choose 1000 shared minutes for $59.99, but this does NOT include night and weekend minutes, or you can get 700 minutes for $69.99 a month, but this includes anytime minutes.

The key is to assess your calling needs and figure out outside of the top five people you call, do you need night and weekend minutes? How many anytime minutes would your family need per person? Like Cingular, T-mobile does require an activation fee, even if you buy online. The activation is $34.99, and $24.99 for additional phones, so this counts against the savings offered in the monthly price. You still get your money back in the long-term, however.

I have used a shared Verizon package for a couple of years, and I am satisfied by the level of service offered. We do not run up against costly overages, so this idea worked well for our household. I hope this information helps you find a plan that works well for yours.
