House. In my opinion the single best TV show in progress at the moment.
Lets just break down the negatives first. What the hell were they thinking with the title of the show: House. I'm not going to lie, i thought it was another home makeover show, and I'm certain I'm not alone on that complete misjudgment. Who ever thinks of the names of shows up deserves to be fired for that because im sure they lost a good few thousand views with that popularity suicide. After that they're aren't that many flaws with this master piece of a series, a few i can identify include:
1. When they go into medical jargon, i know its all to create atmosphere and sophistication, but NO ONE HAS ANY IDEA WHAT THEY'RE ON ABOUT. They may as well take up a dialect from a remote Chinese province and continue when they talk about obscure diseases they the patient may have.
2. Dr Chase's accent. Its meant to be Australian, but I've heard Australian accents and its defiantly not that, I have an inkling it has more of a Dutch vibe, whatever it is, its quite annoying.
3. Dr Cameron needs to have more of the plot lines. Shes smoking hot, get her more screen time.
Onto the pros:
1. Hugh Laurie is just immense , as the tortured but genius Dr House, with the biting comeback to whatever medical mess is placed in front of him. Some of the one liners he comes out with actually had me in tears laughing.
2. Dr Cameron. I believe i have already made my feelings on Cameron clear, excellent casting on that one, i applaud the people pulling the strings behind the scenes to get her on the show.
3. The plot lines. Are always varied, and never fall into the trap that many others do about repetition. Almost all have you guessing right until the very end, often because I couldn't diagnose a broken leg from a common cold, but even for an experienced medical diagnostician i bet the cases raise just as difficult questions as why Britney Spears decided to shave her head. (What was that about?) Also, the bit of romance they feed you keeps you on that leash coming back for the next episode.
