POWER TO THE PUPIL
As a Language assistant I get to hear a lot of gossip sitting in the staffroom at school. More often than not it's about the kids and sometimes the staff question the competency of their superiors. It's to be expected.
Anyway, recently the teachers told me about a boy that was expelled from dealing pot in school. Not just in school but during class! The tutor, a young girl with her head screwed on, reported suspicious activity to the principal and the kid was expelled. And that was that.
But no. This year he's back. And, get this, he's in the class with the same tutor who flagged up his dodgy dealings. Apparently his parents pleaded with the school master, who acquiesced to his return. Crazy! Of course the poor girl is gutted and she feels a little threatened by this 15 year old kid because of his influence over the other kids in the class (he knows a lot of people, he has to it's his business). So she is, in a way, being made to pay for flagging up what is essentially a crime to the proper authority. Talk about messed up.
Don't get me wrong, I too have listened my fair share of Bob Marley tunes. After all, cannabis isn't a real drug is it?!? However that's not the issue here. The point is that, with enough support behind you- be it lawyers, parents or even friends you can come out on top whether you deserve to or not.
