Luck is really the probability that some event will occur. If I behave in ways A and B, most likely C will happen to me. Yet, I can only be aware of the predictability of certain events occurring on an inconsistent basis because my energies are concentrated elsewhere. And other influences are concentrated on me. Therefore, that which affects me is not necessarily categorically sustained, even if my behavior rationally indicates that certain actions will envelope me.
If I deliberately behave a certain way with the intentions of achieving a known result, the likelihood of that event and the actual event taking place is not predicated alone on my behavior or my reasoning to manipulate that event.
Life is a number's game. What are the chances I could be struck by lightning? If I chose not to seek shelter during a storm, chances would be greater. Still doesn't mean I'll be struck. What are my chances of getting in a car accident? If I didn't get any sleep the night before, greater. Still might not crash. And so forth. Now, do I make my own probability?
Not even a mathematician can definitively predict the unfolding events in their lives. There's two many factors. Even though we are the formula to the equation of probability, there's no direct link in controlling it. All it takes is a slight differentiation, and all that seems likely, is far from being inevitable.
