Lou Piniella is a very controversial choice for the Chicago Cubs and is definitely a major risk taken by the Chicago Cubs. His aggressive, often rampaging nature often gets him thrown out of games, but he tends to give his players that aggressive nature as well.

The recent signings this offseason by the management ought to help as well. They have spent around THREE HUNDRED MILLION dollars in free agency in order to boost competitiveness for the Cubs. Hopefully this time around, Lou will have more to work with this time then he did with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Now, about that situation. My feelings about Lou and the Devil Rays are completely alike. He could have made the Devil Rays a major contender for the wild card if the management had focused on the immediate impact, not the future.

My prediction on about what will happen with the Cubs: Lou Piniella will have an immediate impact with the Cubs. His aggressive approach to coaching will bring a new approach to the Cubs and will swing the Cubs, either way up or way down. Does he have what it takes to break the curse? Yes. Will he break it? We all will find out.
