America is a country based on freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. Our ancestors, of whom are not of the same ethnicity grouped and devoted to the end of unfair rule from a power thousands of miles across the sea. America created the Declaration of Independence declaring to the worlds largest and most powerful army by land and sea that the band of refugees would no longer devote to the power of Great Britain. Our ancestors had completed the impossible, fighting back the worlds largest super power and becoming a nation of great independence that would become the world's next super power.
Has our past of over-coming the great, and taking it's place made us lazy? I and thousands of others would agree that the patriotism that Americans had shown hundreds of years ago have been faded and diluted by the lack of interest. Today many Americans could not tell you the reason for war today, who we are fighting, and where.
Americans have lost the beauty of being an American. Coming from a land of people who are willing to fight for not land, not god, not glory, but human rights, and independence. As Americans we take our freedom for granted, we know it as something that must be given, but even today some people do not have human rights, and independence.
I believe the reason for America's laziness in general can be accredited to the lack of nationalism. Why shouldn't we be, we have had to do nothing to be given the great life that we do today. We owe all our lives to the great patriots and our founding fathers.
Yes, we all know that Americans are lazy, you can say all you want about what's happening today but that's not going to change a thing. A solution must be offered in order to create the great nation we once used to be. A nation created by independent thinkers, and strong countrymen is a reason. Create a reason for Americans to care. We seem to shake things off if in no way does it affect us. We must be persuaded if we continue the route that we have chosen today, that we will lose what our ancestors have worked so hard for and how we have lived for hundreds of years. Our only choice to become truly connected as one nation, and not just a symbol.
Once that is achieved then our nation will no longer be one that is lazy, but one envied by the world for it's incredibly dedicated peoples who can be seen as an inspiration for what we as humankind should be. We are a unique creature that must learn to co-exist in a meaning that will represent who we are, not lazy beasts, but hard working and intellectual creatures.
