How blogging works and its effect on e-commerce

about us? We can do that and we can do a better job. Plus depending on what industry your business is in, some readers may be dieing to find out more about your company and how things work. As it started out companies were mainly just blogging about new products, promotion, sales and special offers. This works ok for some businesses but for the most part these blogs just don't have a real reader base. Some industries were able to leverage "sales blogs" to bring in a good amount of customers, but as always there were downfalls. Publishing your new low prices and best deals on your blog may make it easier for some customers to find the lowest prices, but it also makes it that much easier for your competition to find out what you're doing and what they need to be doing to beat you. It was another double edged sword for business blogging. There were however some companies who were able to preserve what a blog is really supposed to be while still promoting their business and building an active reader base. These companies posted information that people are more inclined to be interested in. "How our business works, and what we're doing to make it better for you" has proved to be a great way to focus business blogs. If people are interested in your company and want to know more about how it works and what you're doing to improve your business, then give them the information. You want people to be interested in your company. Of course we all want people to buy from our businesses but the real challenge is getting customers to like your company and maybe even grow to care about your company.

Think of all the name brands that people hold close to their heart for one reason or another. Harley Davidson, Coke-a-Cola, BMW, Google, Dell, Apple. These companies have created an interest in their brand that has drawn people in and eventually created a legitimate following. People love these brands, they trust them and they are looking forward to knowing what they are going to do next. You can create a similar interest in your brand by blogging about your company and giving people the information that may already want. Does this mean that there are ALWAYS people out there who want to know more about your company? No, but if you try and get no response you can always go back to posting promotions and sales.
