To get lower rates. there are several ways to do it.
You always want to make sure that the first card that you get does not have any annual fee's. Of course that first card that you will get will have a really high rate on it. My first card was 18% which is very very high. .
You should start getting other offers for other credit cards. they are competing for your business now that you are building up your credit with your first credit card. Hold in there and don't take the first semi- good offer that you get in the mail. But when you get the offer that is around 10% take it. as long as it doesnt have any annual fee's attached. Most credit bureaus will give you a card that gives you cash back by this time. It is great to get some of your money back into a savings account from a money back card that don't have any fee's.
Thats the kind of card that you should hold out for ! !
