The internet is a way of sharing information with people around the world, and HTML is like the movie theater where it all comes together. HTML stands for HyperText Mark-up Language. Basically, what that means is HTML is a way of taking plain old black and white text and displaying it in a way that makes it easy for us to read. Every time you look at a web page, you are looking at the result of some HTML doing its job.

To better understand just how important HTML is to us, lets apply it to something we all can relate to. Have you ever been too lazy to read a book, and so you opt out for the movie version? Well, the book would be the plain text information and the movie would be the beautiful HTML. HTML makes it so much more convenient for us to read and view stuff on the internet.

HTML allows us to change the color of the background and text, move it around to where we want, and even make the information interactive with buttons and links. HTML is definately a must-have in the internet age.
