OMG what a shock to the system, my son wont sleep, screams if he goes to anyone else, screams till he is blue if he can't lie on my arm, he has colic so every time he finally sleeps he wakes up for his next bottle.
The most important thing is to sleep when you can, the house work, washing, ironing will all be there when you wake up. Take any offer of help be neighbours, family or friends. Yes your new baby is precious but you can't do your best for your little one if your worn out and cracking under your new arrival.
If your unlucky like me, with no family or friends around, then you cant be shy. When my partner was at work it was me and my screaming new arrival. So I found out about local Mother & toddler groups and joined. This helped destress and take slight pressure off me and then I was more relaxed when I got home and could sleep when my son slept.
