In the early days of 2004, when I was stil trying to survive in Chavez High School, I met the young lady who became the love of my life, Maria Saracay. She and I met for the first time in January 2004, in the last months of our junior year in Chavez. I knew God sent Maria to me to save me from my bitterness and sadness. She became friends with me on the same day we met each other. I was so happy, I cried all the way home from school that day. I thanked God for sending Maria to me.
For over a year, Maria and I stayed together in peace, friendship and love. I called her "Angelic Maria", for she came from heaven to heal my wounded soul and comfort my troubled mind. I always stayed with Maria through all things, from heartless teachers to evil students. Even though others put Maria down, I brushed them aside and stayed in peace and amity with my friend Maria.
Maria was the prettiest young lady in the world to me. She had vibrant hair, beautiful, almond-shaped eyes, pale, soft skin, and delicate hands. I thought of Maria as a friend not just for her beauty, but for her sweetness and gentleness. Maria was truly a great lady.
I fell in love with Maria, because she was always there for me when I needed her, just like I was there when she needed me. I even hoped to gain her hand in marriage one day. I dreamed of the day when Maria and I were married, and during the ceremony, I saw Maria, so beautiful and bright, like an angel from heaven, walking down the aisle. I was so happy, I cried just looking at her. She comforted me and kissed me, saying that I did not need to cry, for she knew I loved her. I stopped crying, and then she kissed me on the cheek, as a sign that she truly loved me.
Sadly, our love would be destroyed in the cruel days of 2005. I lost all contact with Maria in April 2005, and it was a blow I never recovered from. I pray and hope that one day Maria will come back to me. I watch for Maria every day, hoping that she is safe and alive.
Maria Saracay-my greatest love and a truly great lady.
