Top five movies of all time

Noting down my "top five movies of all time" is a difficult task. Whatever mood i'm in depends on the type of movie i'm willing to watch, and sometimes none of these will be acceptable. But at an attempt to categorise them, here they are.

5. Road Trip

Post American Pie teen comedy. This one I felt had a more post-teen humour to it. The stories fantastic with jokes all the way through to keep you entertained (most not there just for jokes sake). The characters all have their own distinct personalities and are well acted by the strong collection of actors. The fact that this movie is "narrated" by Tom Greens character just adds to the movie no end.

4. Donnie Darko

I originally saw this before it became the cult hit dvd release it seems to be now. I knew at the time it was something special. I like the strange type of movie, the one that makes you think. Gotta admit though, the commentary on the dvd helped me to understand it a little better in places.
Dark, well acted.

3. Casino Royale

I was never really a fan of the James bond movie's. I went to see it because I heard Daniel Craig was being slated as Bond prior to this movie coming out and couldn't believe he'd make a movie as bad as what everyone hoped.
Loved it! Big action, much more realistic than it's previous incarnations, and more true to the original vision of the James Bond character. He's a cold blooded killer.

2. The Layer Cake

Another Daniel Craig movie. Liked it because it came across as a true British gangster movie, but the director withholding the "gags" seen in Guy Richie's "lock Stock" and "snatch" movies.
Powerful, well written with a shocking ending that the commentary states the studios knew nothing about, going nuts when they saw it realizing it couldn't be changed. Bravo!

1. Point Break

Two successful actors of the time put on screen together, and works really well.
A true adrenaline junkies flick full of extreme action. Surfing, car chases, skydiving, fantastic!
Keanu Reeves does the Johnny Utah character justice, and Patrick Swayze does his own skydiving.

But of course, as stated before, a top five is a difficult thing to achieve. A top twenty may be easier, with films such as Star Wars, The Departed and even This years love making an appearance.
