If you've read much at all about spending wisely, you already know what not to spend your money on. Fast food, impulse items and so on cost a lot more than you think when you add it all up.
The title, though, is SPEND wisely to save money, and with that in mind, here are a few ways you can spend money - and save it, too:
1. Buy a permanent filter for your coffee maker. These are plastic framed filters that you wash and reuse. You'll never have to buy coffee filters again and as a bonus, you'll never run out of them.
2. Buy a solar battery charger and some rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries can be recharged many, many times before having to be replaced and if you use a solar powered charger, it won't cost you a penny to keep them going.
3. Buy a low flow shower head. The amount of heated water used will be cut down and you'll save money.
4. A bigger ticket item: Buy an on-demand water heater. These are on only when you turn the hot water faucet on. They don't store water, but heat it very quickly as needed. Super efficient, they cost a little more to install, but you'll regain the cost quickly.
5. Buy an electric frying pan. They take less energy to cook than a conventional stove or oven and you can cook a lot of things in them, from frying bacon and eggs (at the same time) to making a pot roast.
There are a lot more things that will save money, so think before spending it. Go shopping and save money!
