Why Tubby Smith should be the new coach of Kentucky basketball

Despite what the "Big Blue" idiotic homers have been saying negative reactions about Orlando "Tubby" Smith, he should still be the coach of the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.

I understand that Coach Smith's recruiting has not been very stellar but there's a word that the UK clueless doesn't understand or comprehend very well. That word is parody. Parody fills the landscape of college basketball that is unbelievably present right before everyone's eyes, except for the UK homers. Here's how you can rate parody. Besides Connecticut, name a team that has won at least two NCAA championships in the past 10 years? Answer: none. When was the last time that college basketball had a back to back champion? Answer: Duke 1991 & 1992. That's parody homers.

Recruiting isn't what it used to be. Back 20 to 30 years ago, five to six schools used to get the top notch recruits. Now there is a scholarship limit on how many scholarships is given out and that makes every university compete on a level playing field.

For once, I am sick and tired of the UK homers who think it is their God given right to win a championship every year. Kentucky may have the most wins in college basketball history, but you don't have the most championships! Look at other prestigious schools such as North Carolina. Under the legendary Dean Smith, Smith won his first championship in 1982. Coach Dean Smith didn't even return to the final four until 12 years later. During those 12 years, you never heard about his job being in jeopardy because he hasn't been in the final four in a long time. How about Indiana? Under Coach Bobby Knight, they last won a championship in 1987 and a final four appearance since 1992. There was no bickering about Coach Knight's job being in jeopardy for not winning a championship. Same goes for Kansas under Coach Roy Williams, Maryland and coach Gary Williams and I can go on and on about that.

"Tubby" Smith has never had a losing season, at least 20 wins every season, three elite eight appearances, five conference championships and a national championship. It's painfully obvious to see that the man knows how to coach and knows how to win games. The problem with the UK homers is that they don't understand parody and they think they're the only prestigious university on planet Earth. If Kentucky does decide to fire "Tubby", then they better have someone in mind and ready to step in because if the homers think that they will be getting a top tier coach to step in "Tubby's" shoes, then you've got another thought coming because the top tier coaches are staying put. Let homers be homers and let the university make the decision but with Coach Smith's resume, why would you get rid of him?
