When I was a child I grew up in a world that I believed was trusting. I felt safe and loved and that nothing could harm me. As I grew older I got a wake up call. The world I live in is full of evil. I only have to open a newspaper and there are horror stories about murder, abuse and people carrying knives like this is normal. What has gone wrong with my world? How do I draw the line between good and evil and where is the boundary line anyway? We are accountable for our own lives but who sets the boundary lines in our country? Do we rely on our government to control the laws between right and wrong?
I decided many years ago to surrender my heart to God and to trust him for my life. I have a solid relationship with him and his word, the Bible guides me into all truth. Knowing the truth sets me free. In life we each have an instinct inside us that goes off like an alarm when we sense something is not right. Is this the boundary line?
Setting the line between good and evil has one key element, free will. We all have a choice in what we say and do. We know that if we cross a line when our heart says not to then we are over the boundary and usually there is a price to pay. I try to stay on the right side of the fence. Life is to be enjoyed not lived in fear. God's word says in Deuteronomy 30:19 ...choose life so that you and your children will live."
So much in our world seems to be out of control and there is a lack of respect for life. It is like some are out to cause as much destruction as possible. Some would say there is a lack of discipline in learning the principles of life but regardless of opinions there is always a choice. Free will, good over evil. We can choose.
Within our hearts we set our boundary lines as to how we live. The boundaries between good and evil are as simple as making the right choice, life is to short to waste so choose well and enjoy it.
