Poetry: Separate ways

by Brandi Gregory

Created on: May 30, 2011

You go your way, I'll go mine

I'm holding nothing against you

You can leave... you'll be fine

You and I both know there's nothing left to do

You may trip and you may fall

Life isn't easy- in fact, it's hard

Just keep moving and be a star

I'll still be here, if you call

But what we had has disappeared

Love and attraction just weren't there

I felt for you things I never felt before

Something deep inside told me it wasn't right

I needed something much, much more

You kept going, night after night

I was confused and looking for a way out

And I still don't know what our relationship was about

You pushed, I pulled

We weren't going anywhere

You go that way

I'll go, too

Just know... I'll always be here for you.
