I have "reasoned" for years with due diligence as to my rationale why atheism, and in general, secularism IS in fact, a religion. Nevertheless, instead of hating secularists the way they hate Christians, I actually feel sorry for them. Here's a bunch of examples why. Now, I will predicate my reasoning on the fact that no human, with the exception of Adam and Jesus, has ever been born a Christian. However, to read or listen to their reasoning one would think that no Christian has ever seen the world from their perspective. Therefore, by definition, having seen the world from both sides is it not the Christian that has the truer sense of an informed opinion. My compassion comes out realizing that if secularists would ever let their guard down long enough to understand that Christianity isn't a religion in the first place, nor has God (Jehovah, Yahweh, Adonai, etc.) ever meant it to be, it is FIRST and FOREMOST a RELATIONSHIP. That's why they hate HIM more than any other founders of other religions, because they instinctively understand the conviction of betrayal to that relationship that they can never escape. Who do they think Cain was but the first secularist that tried to deny God.
I may have just given away my first example, but that's OK. It serves as a great example of why secularists are always letting the most vile criminals in society go free because if they hold them accountable it reveals and invalidates their entire value system (or lack thereof), and it's lowest common denominator, themselves. You see, due to the fact that secularists are basically indistinguishable from atheists, and agnostics (as the secularists in these articles proclaim) they view themselves as their own god(s), and if all humans are gods, and equal, then by definition they cannot aspire to any higher moral standard than that which is the lowest that their "godly" brethren adhere to. For example, one of their dear "saints" Bertrand Russell admitted that his ONLY reason for believing in the theory of evolution had NOTHING to do with science, and everything to do with denying God's existence for the sole purpose of being unaccountable to His Final Judgment. So, he rationalized that he could give into any and all of his most depraved instincts, including seducing his best friend's sixteen year old daughter.
There are plenty of other dark manifestations of that mindset. Again, for example, if there is no God, then Who, and what Absolute Standard is going to keep them from taking
