Homeless Post tornadoes 2011 and 2012
Fractured homes and families with broken hearts
Glass now splinters glitter many pieces and parts
Children's eyes now glazed over with dread
Sad child lies crying in an empty puppy's bed
What was their homes now a memory
As they sit by what's left of their home anyway
Many too wet valuables layed out to dry
Tired bodies and eyes continue to cry
Wicked with a roar the tornadoes forced
Took friends and family now forever lost
Hanging on to the cross on his barren chest
Wandering around searching for what's left
Limping dog passes trying to find his home
Finally lies on a shoe that his master owned
Stench arising from uprooted trees wet ground
Lonely sirens still echo through their barren towns
With sorrowful eyes welcome help soon arrives
Volunteers now climb the ruins bringing supplies
Strangers now become their friends and hope survives
For we are blessed with one other under God's blue skies
