Sending the little prince to war has mixed emotions with me:
I think his presence there might put other soldiers in greater danger. I think he will be a target for insurgents. And I think that will ultimately lead to big problems for others. Of course, I am concerned for his own safety. I'm concerned for everyone's safety who is forced to go into battle.
That brings up the fact that we don't need to be sending any more troops over there. None of us do. We need to be bringing them back. So no, we don't need to send the little prince to war at this point.
But, it just puts me in the mind of those senators who vote our nation into war and then won't send their own sons. They use their power to get their sons out of a war that they are more than willing to send other fathers' sons into for some cause. Then they walk the earth with a straight face. They need to suffer in their cowardice and bow their head when anyone looks at them. They need to lower their eyes to the ground whenever any soldier enters in their presence.
But, they don't. They get in their limos and flock to their mansions where they pat their sons on their heads and say, "Everything will be alright son. Daddy will protect you. Keep playing your playstation my twenty year old baby boy."
